Join Mastodon
Mastodon is a decentralised, federated social network. The code is open-source, which means anyone can run the software. We have created an account with Mastodon. We invite you as well. It is easy to sign up, and you need to pick a username, enter your email, and choose a password. That’s it.

Updates direct to you
SSC Digital has also launched our private rooms on Matrix, a decentralised, end-to-end encrypted message platform. Again, the code is open-source, and anyone can run the software for secure messaging. You can use the Element web application or mobile apps to sign up and access the private rooms. Once you have an account, you can also communicate with anyone else with a Matrix account.
- Go to Element Web or download the Element app
- Create an account – you’ll select a username, password, and provide an email
- You can also sign up using the popular federated sign-in options like “Sign in with Apple” on the Element mobile app
- Join the Cov SSC room and the Cov SSC – Social room
- Start sharing!
